The state and its relationship to society

Note that our solution (Peopletree) would not be restricted to national boundaries. Therefore it would:

• transcend the nation-state – overcoming the problems caused by competition between regulatory regimes (eg countries having environmentally lax regulation in order to attract business); and

• recast community relationships from a setting in which the nation-state is heavily dominant, to one with a multitude of interlocking communities of all different sizes and types. Membership for individuals of multiple communities will allow them to apply their energies into the most appropriate forum for each situation. This would increase community effectiveness overall.
